Shamanic Yoga

Shamanic Yoga
Shamanic Yoga is the most archaic form of yoga. By performing special asana sequences called fluid sequences, this powerful transformational practice helps us restore balance to the body and mind by stimulating a deep connection with the whole.
The fluid sequences allow us to connect with the animal spirits that lie dormant within us, absorbing their qualities and internalising the ancient wisdom of Nature. Through breathing and movement, we enter the Imaginal Forest, the psychic space where the illusions and mental projections that inhabit the mind are dissolved. This is the key to accessing the space of ecstasy: an expanded state of consciousness that takes us beyond the ordinary boundaries of the mind where effortlessness prevails, at the boundary between the conscious and the unconscious, the visible and the invisible.
I will guide you through your Imaginal Forest where you will become an eagle, cobra or dragonfly, sometimes an elephant, squirrel or butterfly depending on the inspiration of the here and now, which is where the magic lies.
Shamanic Yoga was born in Sri Lanka, India and Tibet from the encounter between yoga and the shamanic tradition, and was brought to Europe by Selene Calloni Williams who was inspired by the practices of the great master Sri Aurbindo, a yogi and shaman, combining them with the teachings of the psychologist and psychotherapist James Hillmann, a pupil of Jung.
